In the new exhibition «MESTA» Alexey Vasiliev remains devoted to his early plastic experiences and images that go through all his work with a red line. Vasiliev demonstrates decisive self-sufficiency and now days it means that he does not have any fashionable signs that can modernize the work, make it more relevant. Modern culture dictates the thinking of sliding surfing - not deeply, quickly and without much delay, and this is a direct consequence of the rapid rates of renewal of society. The author is radically static on this background. Vasiliev does not pursue time, his strategy is like a stick stuck in a swift creek, which is peppered with leaves, algae and rubbish - that's Vasiliev's sample and becomes the subject of his research. This is not a look beyond the horizon - this is looking at your own being, looking under your feet.
